PhD at the GIGA Consciousness on the link between swallowing and consciousness (Graduated April 2021).

ABOUT

As a speech therapy, Evelyne’s multidisciplinary work aims to study the relationship between consciousness and swallowing. To this end, her research focuses on :
* reviewing the literature on this topic,
* analysing retrospective data on different components related to swallowing in relation with the patients’ level of consciousness,
* and developing an appropriate tool s with qualitative and quantitative items to evaluate swallowing in patients with severe brain injury disorders of consciousness,
* suggesting clinical approaches to the management of orofacial and swallowing disabilities for these patients.
