ABOUT
Marie is a FWO Fundamental Research PhD Candidate in collaboration with the Faculty of Rehabilitation (UHasselt, Belgium), the Coma Science Group (University of Liège, Belgium), and the Brain Stimulation and Cognition Lab (Maastricht University, the Netherlands). Her research aims to investigate the synergistic effects of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) and music in patients with disorders of consciousness following coma.
After completing a University Foundation Year in Cambridge, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University, specialising in neuromodulation during her Master’s program.
Her research interests focus on clinical research in neurological patient populations, particularly exploring non-invasive brain stimulation techniques and music-based therapies.
